Max Maitland has an affair with his best mate’s new girlfriend Julia, an artist and the most beautiful woman in the ‘universe’ no less, but stays with Vivienne, his rather ill-tempered and less desirable wife when she falls pregnant. But as time goes by and the constant arguments, dinner parties and nappy-changes get him down, he regrets his decision to be the archetypal father and husband. He is living one dog day after another.

As the sun disappears and the lights take over the city, Max leaves the family unit and goes on the adventure of his life to find the one person that could have made him the happiest man alive. For Max, the predicament is simple: either Julia will take him back or he will end it all. But nothing is what it seems when you are a man in love and on a mission and at every turn there are people and situations that threaten this glorious reunion and immensely happy life that is waiting for Max and Julia, just so long as he can find her first…
